NOVEMBER ELECTIONS
Calling for nominations for the 2016-2017, Charleston Apartment Association, Board of Directors & Executive Board. Please
nominate an individual for each position that you know is dedicated
to the success of the Charleston Apartment Association and is
available to perform the duties pertaining to the Association. Please
click here for the nomination ballot. Ballots are due to Katie Chapman via email at kchapman@charlestonapartmentas sociation.com by September 10th. Nominations will be accepted from current CAA members in good standing.
All
Board Member positions are up for election in November 2015. This
includes the four (4) Executive Officers and eight (8) Board Member
positions.
Executive
Officers include the President, Vice President, Treasurer and
Secretary and these individuals must have served on the Board at least
one time in the past. The Secretary position must be an
Associate (vendor) Member and the remaining Executive Officer positions
are Direct (owner/manager) Members.
The Board of Directors consists of three (3) Associate (Vendor) Members and five (5) Direct Members.
Disparate Impact Webinar: Learn How the Supreme Court's
Decision Affects You
NAA/NMHC have scheduled an important webinar to explain the U.S. Supreme Court's decision on disparate impact liability under the Fair Housing Act. The webinar will be held Thursday, July 30 from 4 to 5:15 p.m. ET.
Two leading attorneys on fair housing, Nixon Peabody LLP's Harry Kelly
and Ballard Spahr LLP's Mike Skojec, will explain the High Court's
opinion. The webinar will include an in-depth discussion on the
implications for the apartment housing industry and practices and steps
to consider in response. A question-and-answer session will follow the
