March Legislative Pulse

NAA Capitol Conference
The 2014 schedule was packed with educational sessions, expert speakers on policy and politics, a briefing on the issues and a new lunchtime event with members of Congress on Lobby Day.   The conference kick-off speakers were Charlie Cook, editor and publisher of The Cook Political Report and a political analyst for the National Journal Group, and Stuart Rothenberg, editor and publisher of the Rothenberg Political Report and columnist for Roll Call.  The NAA Capitol Conference prepared members to carry the message on major industry issues as informed, effective and confident industry advocates.

The Charleston Apartment Association met with Senator Tim Scott, Senator Lindsey Graham and  Congressman Mark Sanford on March 12th.  The key items discussed were Housing Finance Reform, Immigration Reform and Disparate Impact.

Senator Lindsey Graham

On March 18th the Charleston Apartment Association had the pleasure of presenting Senator Lindsey Graham with a PAC fair share check from funds raised in 2013.  Donations like these enable our voices to be heard and pave the way for political leaders to advocate for the local and national industry.
