Senate Passes Appropriations Bill

The Senate was finally able to move forward on the budget last week giving the appropriations bill third reading after nearly two weeks of debate on the Senate floor. The budget process stalled several times as members of the Senate struggled to come to an agreement on multiple issues including the funding of local governments, the expansion of four-year old kindergarten programs, and increasing the in-district expense funds allocated to each senator. The appropriations bill will now head to the House to determine where the House and Senate can agree.
